BuildCon Steel branches maintain a wide inventory of steel plates, which are flat structural components with a width of at least 200 mm and a minimum thickness of 4.5 mm. These plates are commonly employed to connect various structural materials or to form integral parts of assembled structures. While prominently featured in industries like general engineering, production, and construction, the applications of steel plates extend beyond these sectors. Steel plates can undergo flame, plasma, or laser profiling to cater to diverse engineering needs.

These encompass mild steel plates suited for general engineering purposes, S355-graded steel plates tailored for construction engineering and manufacturing applications, boiler plates for crafting boilers and pressure vessels, corten plates that exhibit heightened resistance to atmospheric corrosion, Lloyds plates typically used in marine engineering, robust hardwearing plates designed for heavy-duty industries like quarrying and construction, Vastrap and chequer plates featuring textured surfaces for slip-resistant walkways, and in-house manufactured base plates serving as foundations for vertical structural components. Our inventory also includes a complete assortment of base plates, custom-cut to match your specific needs, with thicknesses spanning from 1.6 mm to 16.0 mm.
We possess de-coiling and cut-to-length facilities capable of producing thicknesses ranging from 0.5 mm to 6.0 mm and widths spanning 925 mm to 1500 mm, covering hot-rolled, cold-rolled, and galvanized materials. Our guillotining facilities craft thicknesses between 1.5 mm and 16.0 mm, with widths extending up to 3000 mm. Moreover, we offer flame cutting services, accommodating flat plates with a thickness of up to 300 mm. It’s important to note that Lloyd’s plates are not regularly kept in stock.
